Yesterday Greens MLC Mark Parnell succeeded in having the Upper House pass legislation that will allow public servants to choose an ethical option for their superannuation investments. Back in July 2005 I asked the Treasurer Kevin Foley why public servants weren’t being offered such an ethical option. At the time the Treasurer dismissed the inquiry by claiming there wasn’t enough demand.

I will be doing all I can to convince the Treasurer and other members of the Rann Government that we should be supporting Mark Parnell’s legislation when it comes before the Lower House.
